APW - Waltham, Santa Fe Route marked in logo to mvt and dial, Model 1883, 17J, 18S, HC model mvt cased in sidewinder orientation in nickel OF display case, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, ornate nickel damascene, s#5717193. An uncommon and attractive double signed railroad marked watch.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some fine scratches adjacent case screws, few micro-fine scratches elsewhere, some oxide to regulator assembly; dial with outer chapter hls below seconds-register near 6 and 6:30; fine hands, minute with bend to tip, seconds-hand with areas of oxide and finish loss; case has been gold-plated at some time in its past but the high majority of gold-plating has been lost to its exterior surfaces, case with additional lever-set slot at 6, case shows little wear, some fine scratches, some marring to band adjacent bezel opening lip, some scattered nicks; tight gold-filled replacement bow with some wear to brass, crown shows little wear; good front glass crystal, rear glass crystal with small edge nick at right side.
